SEI Counties Experiencing Moderate Drought Conditions

Residents in these areas are urged to use extra caution if you are burning anything outdoors.

(Southeast Indiana) – Much of Southeast Indiana is experiencing Moderate Drought conditions.

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows that a majority of Dearborn, Ripley and Franklin counties fall under the moderate drought category, while Ohio and Switzerland counties have been abnormally dry.

The region has received little to no rainfall and temperatures have remained hot, leading to dry conditions.

Residents in these areas are urged to use extra caution if you are burning anything outdoors. Burning is not recommended in breezy and less humid conditions.
