Safe Passage Reminds Community Help Is Still Available

A COVID-19 impact and response plan has been put in place to keep those that need help in the community safe during times of isolation. 

(Batesville, Ind.) - Safety precautions have been put in place across the country to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. While non-essential businesses have been closed, many employees working from home, and students participating in eLearning, victims of domestic abuse need help more than ever. 

Safe Passage wants to remind the community that help, healing, and hope have not been canceled. 

During uncertain times like these, help can still be found. Safe Passage will remain in full operation during this Pandemic crisis. 

"In so many ways, we are all in this battle together against the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic. Safe Passage is proud to be part of the leadership team for the One Batesville Task Force - a community-driven initiative to address short and long term needs associated with the COVID-19 crisis and future concerns of the Batesville area," says Safe Passage Executive Director Jane Yorn.

"Safe Passage is preparing for the anticipated rise in domestic violence associated with increased isolation and tension within households. On March 23, the Governor deems Safe Passage an essential service. Policies and practices have been adapted to keep the shelter open and safe for clients and staff," says Safe Passage.
