Jared Crow completed the marathon in memory of his longtime friend and teammate who passed earlier this year.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg High School graduate Jared Crow found a meaningful way to honor the life of his longtime friend and teammate, Gavin McClanahan.
The two grew up together, sharing countless memories together.
Gavin served his country by joining the United States Army. Over six years of service, from 2019 to 2025, he rose to the rank of Sergeant E5. Jared pursued his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri.
In March 2025, Gavin’s passing deeply affected everyone who knew him. Among those most impacted was Jared, who wanted to do something more than just remember his friend.
After months of training and preparation, Jared ran the MO’ Cowbell Marathon in St. Charles, Missouri, wearing an LHS football shirt proudly displaying the number 9 and “McClanahan” on the back.
Once a Tiger always a Tiger.
