(Boone County, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of rolling roadblocks on various routes in Boone County on Thursday, March 13. Traffic will be temporarily slowed down and, at times, stopped to allow crews space to patch potholes. This project will improve safety on the area state routes and interstates.

Our KYTC Boone County maintenance crew will be making these repairs between the working hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. This work is being performed overnight to mitigate traffic disruptions. Once work is completed in one location, crews will move to the next location on the list below.

Tentative Work Schedule

  • Aero Parkway (KY 1017) from Burlington Pike (KY 18) (mile point 0.0) to Turfway Road (mile point 2.3), a distance of 2.3 miles.
  • North Bend Road (KY 237) from Burlington Pike (KY 18) (mile point 6.2) to the roundabout at Graves Road (KY 495) (mile point 11.7), a distance of 5.5 miles.
  • Interstate 275 from Graves Road (KY 495) (mile point 9) to Mineola Pike (KY 3076) (mile point 2), a distance of 7.0 miles.
  • Interstate 75 from the Boone/Kenton County line (mile point 183.3) to south of Mt. Zion Road (KY 536) (mile point 177), a distance of 6.3 miles.

Crews are estimating the Aero Parkway and North Bend Road rolling roadblocks to be between 9 p.m. and midnight. Interstate rolling roadblocks are expected after midnight.

The rolling roadblocks on I-275 will be westbound first, followed by eastbound. Rolling roadblocks on I-75 will be southbound first, followed by northbound.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, and to find an alternate route during these hours to avoid delays. Motorists should adhere to posted signage, and not pass crews blocking ramps during the rolling roadblock. Crews temporarily block the highway to provide a safe area for our crews to work. Please, drive safely to keep our work zones and workers safe.

Weather permitting, this pothole patching project should be completed by Friday, March 14 at 6 a.m.
