Three familiar names have been tapped as the GOP's candidates in the November 2019 municipal election.
(Aurora, Ind.) - There are three new candidates for city council in Aurora.
Republican party members held a caucus recently to fill vacancies on the ballot for the fall 2019 general election.
Patrick Schwing, who lost a Republican primary election for mayor this past May, has been selected as the GOP candidate for Aurora City Council At-Large, the same position he currently holds on council. Schwing will run against Democratic candidate Rick Orcutt in the November 5 general election.
John Borgman was selected as the Republican candidate for Council District 1 and is currently uncontested. Borgman, a former mayor, has been serving in elected office in the city for 25 years.
Frederick Lester was chosen for Council District 4 and will run against Democrat Tristica Sheckles Howard. Lester has previously served on city council.
