INDIANAPOLIS - State Rep. Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville) recently received appointments to serve on key summer study committees.
Interim committees meet throughout the summer and fall to explore and review policy issues and work together to identify solutions. Patterson will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation and the Interim Study Committee on Environmental Affairs.
"I look forward to serving on these committees and working with my colleagues on a number of issues, and I remain focused on finding ways we can continue to improve roads, especially in rural communities like ours," Patterson said. “Taking time in the summer and fall to study these topics helps us decide if new legislation should be presented during session.”
Legislators will hear testimony from the public, various experts and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the budget session in January.

Committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online on the General Assembly's website located at iga.in.gov.
