CINCINNATI - The Red Cross are seeking volunteers to install free smoke alarms in homes across the tri-state area.

The Greater Cincinnati Tri-State Chapter of the American Red Cross begins its 2024 Sound the Alarm campaign this weekend in Sharonville and has events scheduled throughout the tri-state area through May 2.

Sound the Alarm is part of the larger Red Cross Home Fire Campaign which aims to reduce home fire deaths and injuries through providing disaster preparedness information, home fire safety instruction and the installation of free smoke alarms.

During the events listed below, Red Cross volunteers, firefighters and community partners will knock on doors of neighborhood homes offering to install free smoke alarms and provide disaster safety information.

The communities selected for this program have been determined to be at high risk for home fires.
