Southeastern Indiana home sellers are receiving the original list price 95 percent of the time.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Home sales in southeastern Indiana are down, but selling prices are up.
The Southeastern Indiana Realtors Association says for the first five months of 2019, 387 homes have been sold in Dearborn, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland counties. That’s 5.4 percent behind 2018’s January through May sales.
However, the median sales price of $155,000 is up 11.5 percent this year over last. The average sale price of $182,422 is a 16.1 percent increase.
Ninety-five percent of home sellers in the region are receiving the original listing price for their sales.
The current months supply of home inventory is 6.1 months, meaning that’s how long it would take to sell the 580 homes which were on the market in May. Six months inventory is generally considered a healthy housing market by economists.
