The purpose of our annual Day of Giving event is to give people the opportunity to show their appreciation for the place we call home.

(Ripley County, Indiana) The Ripley County Community Foundation hosted its’ 5th Annual Day of Giving on November 8th. The Community Foundation raised $100,000 during the event. All donations were matched by the Community Foundation and have been placed into the endowment funds that will provide for the future sustainability of Ripley County’s towns, schools, and amenities. “The purpose of our annual Day of Giving event is to give people the opportunity to show their appreciation for the place we call home,” stated Amy Streator, RCCF Executive Director. Streator further noted that, “Ripley County has wonderful people, beautiful landscapes, a rich history, and a bright future. These are assets that deserve to be recognized and celebrated. The Day of Giving is the one day each year that we, as a community, can honor all things in Ripley County.”

“The Day of Giving is also a time for the Board of Directors to show its appreciation for our donors and the many non-profit organizations that work every day to enhance our communities,” stated Streator. The Community Foundation presented $35,000 in Large Grants to local non-profits during the event. The recipients of these grants were: $2,500 to the Batesville Memorial Library to create an outdoor reading garden; $1,500 to Batesville High School to support Choices 2.0 programming; $2,500 to the Delaware Volunteer Fire Department to equip a fire truck; $2,800 to Fresh Local Food Collaborative to offer Farm2Farm Programing in Ripley County Schools; $1,250 to the Gibson Theatre for façade improvements; $1,500 to the Milan Police Department for a new radar gun; $5,000 to the Milan School Corporation for CPR Equipment; $2,500 to Project T3 to provide supplies to children in need of services; $2,500 to the Ripley County Health Department for a county wide car seat program; $1,000 to the Southeastern Career Center for the Fearless Females Program; $1,950 to the Southeastern Indiana YMCA to upgrade its’ fire alarm system; $5,000 to Saint John’s United Church of Christ (Penntown) for the construction of a walkway to the New Horizons clinic; $5,000 to the Batesville Youth Baseball, Inc. for construction of playground equipment.
