UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory Extended

The National Weather Service has extended the current Winter Weather Advisory for the tri-state area until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. 

The first measurable snowfall of the season is a record breaker. Approximately 2.3 inches was recorded Monday at CVG, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

With temperatures remaining below freezing Tuesday, roads could be icy. Several accidents have already been reported in the tri-state area as of Tuesday morning.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead and use extra caution when traveling.

(Wilmington, Oh.) – Temperatures are expected to drop rapidly Monday night, which could cause for slippery road conditions with rain and snow in the forecast.  

The daytime high on Monday is 57 degrees. The low is 19.

Due to the threat of inclement weather, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 6:00 p.m. Monday to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Rain is expected to make its way through the tri-state Monday afternoon and into the evening. With temperatures falling quickly, the precipitation could cause slick roadways.

Meteorologists expect rain to turn to a wintery mix overnight, with a chance for snow. According to the National Weather Service, one to three inches of accumulation is possible.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead if traveling Monday night or Tuesday morning.
