(Florence, Ky.) - Florence Police had to venture into a storm sewer in order to apprehend a fugitive on Saturday.

Joshua Fugate, 31, of Hazard, Kentucky, has been wanted for about three years on several warrants for crimes including theft, burglary, assault, and violating his parole.

Police tried to arrest Fugate at the Rave Cinemas on Mall Road on Saturday, but he fled on foot.

"FPD Ofc. Eder and K9 Karma responded and began to track Fugate through the woods, marsh, and even the city sewer system. After an exhaustive 3 hour manhunt he was found hiding in a storm sewer, exhausted, and begging to go to jail," the police department said.

Fugate now faces additional charges of fleeing and trespassing, as well as drug charges.
