(Batesville, Ind.) – The Batesville Police Department is reminding citizens to use caution when posting on social media.
Police say they were notified of a social media post on June 15 that stated a male tried to abduct a female from the Batesville Kroger parking lot.
An official report was never called in to the Batesville Police Department but officers still followed up.
After reviewing surveillance video, it was determined no one attempted an abduction.
Batesville Police is urging residents to use caution in what they post on social media considering inaccurate posts can cause undue fear.
