Multiple agencies played a part in stopping a red pickup truck that fled police in Lawrenceburg on Thursday morning.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A police pursuit took place Thursday morning in Dearborn and Ripley counties.
Around 10:20 a.m., Lawrenceburg Police attempted to stop a red pickup truck near U.S. 50 and Tanners Creek Drive.
According to a press release, the driver fled as two Lawrenceburg officers approached the vehicle. Due to the sudden acceleration, both officers were almost struck by the truck.
Lawrenceburg Police say the driver continued on U.S. 50 to Railroad Avenue, where the driver struck an occupied Aurora Police cruiser.
The pursuit continued back onto westbound U.S. 50 then north on State Road 129.
Multiple agencies deployed stop sticks, which helped stop the truck on Legion Road in Ripley County.
The identity of the driver has not been released at this time.
Additional information is expected to be released upon formal charges being filed.
Lawrenceburg Police were assisted by the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora PD, Dillsboro PD, Indiana State Police, Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Batesville PD, and Batesville EMS.
