The crash took place around 12:00 a.m. Thursday.
(Erlanger, Ky.) – Police are investigating a double fatal crash on Interstate 75.
Erlanger and Kenton County officers responded to the crash on I-75 south near the Buttermilk and I-275 exits around 12:00 a.m. Thursday.
Dispatch received a call around midnight in reference to a white pickup truck that was all over the roadway. A short time later, the caller, who was still on the line, reported that the pickup truck collided with a construction truck.
The driver of the pickup truck, Andrew McIntyre, 29, of Carrollton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His front seat passenger, Ratasha McIntyre, 32, was also killed in the crash.
Two children in the vehicle were also injured. A 1-year-old who was not properly restrained in a safety seat, sustained life-threatening injuries. A 7-year-old in the back seat suffered serious physical injuries.
Both were transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Mark Klapper, 43, of Cleves, was the operator of the construction truck. He sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at St. Elizabeth.
Interstate 75 has reopened following the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
