Police Find Credit Card Stealing Device

(Boone County, Ky.) – Two Canadian men are accused of possessing a device to steal unsuspecting citizens’ credit card information.

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Erdem Sarikus on Interstate 71 in Verona for speeding on Monday afternoon. Mehmet Gun was a passenger in the car.

Deputy Jason Noel searched the rented vehicle. In the glove compartment Noel discovered two credit card readers, a “jumper cable” for downloading information, and double-sided tape for adhering the device to the front of an ATM.

Sarikus, 25, and Gun, 32, are each charged with Criminal possession of a forged instrument 1st degree. They are being held in the Boone County Detention Center.
