(Versailles, Ind.) – A date has been set for the 15th annual Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics athletes across the state of Indiana.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Versailles State Park.

The plunge is one in a series of 16 plunges held throughout the state during the month of February.

As Special Olympics’ signature fundraiser, the Polar Plunge raises vital funds to support the organization’s mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching more than 18,000 athletes throughout the state.

Last year’s event drew more than 500 plungers and spectators.

This year, participants must raise a “bear” minimum of $85 to take the plunge.
