PODCAST: Community Conversation - Youth Vaping Epidemic

Discussion included industry tactics and ways to get help to break free from nicotine addiction.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - On Thursday, Eagle Country 99.3 hosted a Community Conversation - Youth Vaping Epidemic to discuss industry tactics and where to get help to break free from nicotine addiction. 

The talk was sponsored by the Nicotine Action Alliance, Dearborn County Health Department and Dearborn County CASA Youth Ambassadors. 

The panel included Jascia Robinson, Director PATHS Education, Sara Powell, Health Teacher at South Dearborn MS, Jack Prarat, Dearborn County Deputy and School Resource Officer, Arissa Riley, senior at South Dearborn HS, and Elizabeth Kirchgassner, junior at East Central HS. 

Some of the topics discussed included: 

  • How flavors and menthol impact youth
  • School district preventative and treatment measures
  • Why vaping is appealing to young people
  • How and where youth are getting vapes
  • Impact of tobacco product marketing
  • How and where to get help
