(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - After repeated vandalism at a public park, Lawrenceburg Police say they will step up enforcement of the curfew for minors throughout the city.

The city’s Arch Street Park has been the frequent victim of vandalism this summer. Other parks have also been vandalized.

“These parks are maintained by many city employees who work diligently to keep them looking nice and we want to keep them in good condition for all the children to be able to play,” a notice from the Lawrenceburg Police Department read.

Any children found out during curfew hours will be taken to the Lawrenceburg Police Department where their parents can pick them up. However, repeat offenders could be cited, the department says.

For children ages 15 through 17, curfew hours by state law are 1:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday, or 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Children under 15 violate curfew if they are out any day of the week between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
