Gov. DeWine says unvaccinated individuals should continue to wear masks at indoor public places.
(Columbus, Oh.) – Most of Ohio’s COVID-19 health orders have been lifted, but some restrictions remain.
Measures being removed as of June 2 include facial covering protocols, social distancing guidelines, and capacity restrictions for indoor and outdoor events.
However, pandemic health orders will remain in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
“Ohioans have done a great job during the pandemic, said Governor Mike DeWine. “And, with more than five million Ohioans who have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, we are getting back to living the lives we want.”
The governor added that it is important to remember that there a significant number of Ohioans who remain unvaccinated.
“It is important that those not fully vaccinated continue to wear masks indoors and follow other preventative measures to keep themselves as healthy as possible.”
To date, 5,310,588 Ohioans have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Locally, more than 388,000 Hamilton County residents have started the vaccination process.
