The event is scheduled for August 28

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Ohio County Tourism, Inc. will host the free Fun in Rising Sun Critter Cinema & Family Night on Friday, August 28.

The event will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Visitors Center.

The evening will include youth and adult arts and crafts vendors, a make-and-take craft, miniature calves from the Boots N’ Mini Moo’s, a visit from Bluey from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and face painting.

A showing of Zootopia 2 will begin at 8:00 p.m. under the pavilion.

The local Cub Scouts will serve free popcorn during the movie, and Dori’s Rolled Ice Cream will be available for purchase throughout the evening. JAM Real Estate Group–Keller Williams Realty Service is also sponsoring the event by providing half off select ice cream items.

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

Executive Director Kendal Miller said the event is part of the organization’s arts programming, supported by an Arts Project Support Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Columbus Area Arts Council Region 9. The goal is to offer family-friendly activities, support the arts and local artists, and welcome visitors to Rising Sun and Ohio County.

Free vendor spaces for youth and adult arts and crafts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Set-up is outdoors on concrete. Vendors need to supply their own tables, chairs, and/or tents. For applications or questions, email kendal@enjoyrisingsun.com.
