OH, IN, & KY Make Top 10 For Most Irresponsible States During COVID-19 Pandemic

Over 15,000 data points were collected to rank all 50 states.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) — Depending on where you are in the country, mandates and attitudes surrounding coronavirus drastically vary from state to state.

While there are many "responsible" states prepared to face the current and next wave of infections, there are also states that are considered to be handling the pandemic "irresponsibly."

Based on information received through a study, TheTruthAboutInsurance.com ranked each state based on their "coronavirus responsible behaviors."

Data to rank the most and least personally responsible for preventing the spread of COVID-19 was found by comparing the adoption of face coverings, the percentage of people sheltering in place, and the number of administered coronavirus tests.

Responsible Behaviors: Protecting, Distancing, & Testing

  • Wearing Masks in Public
    • Public health authorities, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, confirmed that consistently wearing masks in public places or staying at home reduces new COVID-19 infection rates. However, many United State citizens have fought against mandates that include wearing these face coverings and staying home.
  • Quarantining Safely at Home
    • The most effective form of coronavirus prevention is sheltering at home.
  • COVID-19 Test Availability
    • To make educated decisions surround the coronavirus, both individually and collectively, widespread testing is crucial.
