NWS Confirms Two More Tornadoes In Southeastern Indiana

Both tornadoes traveled over 5 miles through Ohio County.

(Ohio County, Ind.) - Two more tornadoes during last week's storm on Wednesday, April 8, have been confirmed by the National Weather Service. 

Both of these EF0 tornadoes passed through Ohio County around 10:15 p.m.

The first tornado started 4 miles southeast of Dillsboro and traveled nearly 6 miles to end about 5 miles southwest of Rising Sun. Winds topping out between 70-75 MPH causing damage to roofs, siding, barns, and trees.

The second tornado first touched down 5.5 miles northwest of Rising Sun on Salem Ridge Road and led a 5.25 mile path. With an estimated maximum wind speed of 65 MPH, damage along this path was much weaker than the first tornado.

No fatalities or injuries were reported.
