Investigators were on the scene for about three hours Friday afternoon.

(Verona, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Dollar General on Verona Mudlick Road on Friday afternoon for a reported suspicious package that was found near the store.
Upon arrival, deputies observed a black trash bag at the reported located and could hear a beeping sound emanating from the bag. Deputies immediately evacuated the area and shutdown the roadway.
After further investigation from the Cincinnati Fire Department Hazardous Devices Unit, it was determined that the bag contained multiple security tags from a local retail store. The tags were not properly disabled and were found to be the cause of the sound initially heard by responding units.
Deputies collected the trash bag as well as the security tags and reopened the roadway around 8:14 p.m., nearly three hours after arriving at the scene.
