NKY Doctor Accused Of Drug Trafficking Gets 12 Years In Prison

The doctor ran a clinic out of Dry Ridge.

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) - A northern Kentucky doctor has been sentenced to jail time for drug trafficking.

Doctor Sundiata El-Amin, 69, was convicted on 173 drug trafficking charges in March, reports The River City News.

The doctor, who ran a clinic out of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, allegedly distributed more than 300,000 oxycodone pills in just one year for no medical reason.

El-Amin was sentenced Thursday to 12 years in prison and is ordered to pay a special assessment fine of over $17,000.
