Milroy Man Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In Dearborn Co.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – A Milroy man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 74 in northern Dearborn County.

Brian Hillebrand, 46, was taken into custody on Monday and charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug Over 5 Grams (Level 5 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).

Indiana State Police initiated a traffic stop on Hillebrand’s 2001 BMW around 11:30 a.m. near mile marker 165.

During the stop, troopers became suspicious that criminal activity was taking place, and drug detection K-9 Jinx was deployed for an open-air sniff. Jinx indicated there were illegal drugs in the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers allegedly located seven grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl concealed in the trunk. A syringe and other drug paraphernalia were also located.

A female passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene. Hillebrand is held in Dearborn County Jail pending his initial appearance in court.
