(Bright, Ind.) – Police say an elderly man drowned before being found face down in a Dearborn County pond over the weekend.
According to a daily activity sheet, Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the North Dearborn Village Apartments on Unity Drive just before 9:00 p.m. Friday, January 6.
Sheriff Mike Kreinhop said Monday the 90-year-old a man found in the water was James Edwards, of Bright. He lived at the apartment complex.
Kreinhop said Edwards appeared to have been fishing when he fell into the pond. Outdoor temperatures reached into the 60s Friday, providing good fishing weather.
The drowning remains under investigation.
