Longtime Napoleon Firefighter Passes Away After Long Battle with Leukemia

(Napoleon, Ind.) – A longtime Napoleon firefighter is gone too soon.

Craig Simon passed away Tuesday at the age of 40 after a long fight with leukemia and related complications.

He was first diagnosed in September 2017.

Simon, a 2000 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School, was a “gold badge” life member of the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department serving for 22 years.  

During his time with the agency, he served as chief, an EMT, and first responder.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.

Simon will be laid to rest on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Napoleon Fire Department, Hospice of South Central Indiana, or for his children.
