(Morris, Ind.) – A longtime volunteer firefighter was on a call when he suddenly went from helper to the one in need.
Ed Scheele, a 41-year volunteer with the Morris Volunteer Fire Department, had a medical emergency after being called out for a possible structure fire on April 24.
Luckily for Scheele, he was surrounded by trained personnel at the time.
After a two-night hospital stay, firefighters and EMS personnel from Morris Fire, Sunman Fire, Rescue 20 and Batesville Fire welcomed Scheele home on April 26.
According to the Batesville Herald Tribune, one of Scheele’s arteries was 95 percent blocked, and he had two stents put in at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
