(Harrison, Oh.) – The Harrison community is mourning the loss of a longtime community servant.
Harrison Fire Department Deputy Chief Greg Chetwood passed away at his home on Saturday at the age of 58. Chetwood had been battling ALS and frontotemporal dementia since November 2018.
Chetwood was a career public servant, spending 32 years as a member of the Harrison Fire Department. During that time, Chetwood helped develop the Arson Task Force and spent the last eight years of his career as commander of the Hamilton County Fire Investigative Unit.
He also spent 16 years serving in the U.S. Navy.
Chetwood's life will be celebrated with a drive-thru visitation on Wednesday, May 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Harrison Fire Department Station #56, 200 Harrison Avenue.
Motorists are asked to enter from the Broadway Street intersection of Walnut Street and exit north to Harrison Avenue. All motorists must remain in their vehicle during visitation.
Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation for family and close friends.
