(Greendale, Ind.) – Jeff Lane has spent a good part of his life serving the people of southeastern Indiana.
The longtime firefighter and police officer announced Monday that he is retiring from the Greendale Police Department, where he has served many years as the Assistant Chief.
“We are going to miss having him around but wish him nothing but the best with the next chapter of his remarkable career. We can’t thank you enough for your lifetime of commitment and courage protecting the residents and visitors of Greendale,” reads a statement from Greendale Police.
Lane also serves as the Aurora Fire Chief. He has been serving with the Aurora Fire Department for close to 40 years.
His career as a public servant was honored back in 2016 when Lane was chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash award.
