Longtime Franklin Co. Sergeant Running for Sheriff

Adam Henson is throwing his name in the mix for the Republican Primary in May.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - Adam Henson is a lifelong resident of Franklin County. 

For more than 29 years, he has served his community as a member of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, where he currently serves as Sergeant. 

Now, he hopes to become Sheriff. 

Henson recently announced his candidacy for Sheriff as his name will be on the Republican Primary ticket in May of 2026. 

After graduating from Franklin County High School in 1993, Henson went on to earn an Associate of Science degree in Law Enforcement from Vincennes University. He returned home in 1996 and started as a jail officer and transitioned to Deputy Sheriff in 1999. 

In 2004, Henson became a law enforcement instructor, teaching Patrol Stops, Emergency Vehicle Operations, and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. He has also served as a K-9 handler and Field Training Officer.

Henson became Sergeant in 2016. In 2022, he received the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Medal of Valor and Life Saving Award for actions during a critical incident.

As your next Sheriff, I will continue advancing the agency’s mission and putting the safety and well-being of our community first. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote in the Republican Primary Election in May 2026," said Henson.
