Longtime Dearborn County Cardiologist Joins St. Elizabeth Physicians

Dr. Ashok Penmetsa has been treating adult cardiac patients for the past 23 years in Lawrenceburg.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Cardiologist Ashok Penmetsa, MD, will join St. Elizabeth Physicians January 1, 2021, keeping cardiology care local for the Southeastern Indiana community. Dr. Penmetsa has been treating adult cardiac patients for the past 23 years in Lawrenceburg.

“Having Dr. Penmetsa continue to provide care in Southeastern Indiana is wonderful news for our community,” says Jacob Bast, Senior Vice President and COO at St. Elizabeth Physicians. “He is an asset to the medical community and is well respected by his patients and peers.”

Dr. Penmetsa completed both his internal medicine residency and fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Wright State University School of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Dayton, Ohio. He is board certified in cardiovascular medicine.

“I have truly enjoyed practicing in Dearborn County all these years,” noted Dr. Penmetsa. “This is an amazing community with wonderful families and neighbors that look out for one another. I look forward to providing care for this community well into the future.”

As part of both St. Elizabeth Physicians and the St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Penmetsa is welcoming new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
