Local Downtowns, Trails, Brewery Up For "Best Of Indiana"

Local places and businesses are nominated for the 2019 Best of Indiana.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Voting is underway to determine the 2019 Best of Indiana.

State tourism agency Visit Indiana has opened voting for the Best of Indiana people’s choice campaign. You can go to www.visitindiana.com/best-of-indiana/cast-your-vote and vote daily for the state’s best breweries, hiking trails, and main streets. Voting is open until November 3.

“We enlisted the experts from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Brewers Guild of Indiana, to help us find the Best of Indiana from across the state,” said Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch. “This year’s categories allow travelers to explore our small towns, enjoy our outdoor destinations and sample a brew from a local brewery.”

A few local downtown districts are among the nominees for Best Main Street, including Aurora, Brookville, Lawrenceburg and Madison.

Aurora’s Great Crescent Brewery is among the nominees for Best Brewery.

The nominees for Best Hiking Trail include the Old Forest Trail at Versailles State Park and Clifty Falls State Park.

Winners of the Best of Indiana will be announced November 12.

Last year, Visit Indiana asked Hoosiers to select Indiana’s Best Burger (Brew Burger in Jasper), Museum (The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis) and State Park (Turkey Run State Park in Marshall County).
