CINCINNATI - Derek Stevens wears many hats.
His primary role in the community is serving as a detective at the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office. He was recently promoted to that position after several years as an officer.
Last May, Stevens was named the Policeman of the Year at the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival.
Aside from working in law enforcement, Stevens has served as a volunteer firefighter in Moores Hill since he was 18. Now 31-years-old, he also works as an EMS.
On Wednesday, Stevens will be recognized as the Hometown Hero at Great American Ball Park when the Cincinnati Reds take on the St. Louis Cardinals.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
