(Erlanger, Ky.) – A large quantity of liquid heroin was confiscated by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents at the DHL sorting facility at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Nearly six pounds of the drug was discovered in an intercepted shipment on October 11.

The liquid heroin was hidden in four shampoo bottles in a package manifested as “massage oil.” Officers tested the bottles’ contents, which was positive for heroin. Customs agents say the shipments originated in Morelos, Mexico and were headed for Bronx, New York.

That same day, agents also found four other shipments, each containing over four pounds of cocaine shipped from central America. Their destinations were in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New York.

“These types of seizures exemplify our officers’ dedication to the CBP mission of intercepting dangerous and illegal narcotics,” Joshua Shorr, Cincinnati Port Director, said. “I commend our officers and specialists for the work they do every day to make our communities safer.”
