(Undated) - This very mild winter is helping out Hoosiers’ heating bills.
Duke Energy spokesperson Lew Middleton told the Shelbyville News the company’s average Indiana residential customer used about 14 percent less electricity in December 2011 than they did during December 2010.
Heating bills were down ten percent when comparing the same months.
Duke Energy says for an average customer, more than half of their energy costs are for heating and cooling.
