L'burg Public Library District Prepares For A Phased Reopening

Curbside services will begin on Tuesday, May 26.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg Public Library District are prepping for a phased reopening to the public.

“Keeping staff, patrons and the community safe is a top priority as the overall battle against COVID-19 continues,” said library district director Barbara Bonney.

This phased reopening will begin with curbside services, beginning on Tuesday, May 26.

Drop box returns began this week, as staff members used a two-part sanitizing system to clean materials. Returns will continue to be received only through the drop boxes at this time.

“We will first sanitize the materials with a hospital-approved sanitizer system Cintas installed in both libraries. Then we will quarantine the materials for a period of time. Our staff will be gloved and masked and protected,” said business operations manager Michelle Bunte.

No additional fines will be added for materials returned by Sunday, May 31. When fines resume June 1, patrons with a balance of $5 or more will need to use the online payment option to utilize the curbside service.

To pick up materials for curbside service, you may access the library district's online catalog at www.lpld.lib.in.us.

Patrons may place holds on items by logging into their personal account, calling the Lawrenceburg or North Dearborn branch, or by emailing circulation1@lpld.lib.in.us. Remember to indicate the preferred branch for pick up.

An automatic notification will be sent when items are ready. Staff members will do their best to locate all requested items; however, it is not guaranteed.

Lawrenceburg curbside hours will be from noon to 4:00 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The drive-through window is located off High Street.

The North Dearborn branch will requires patrons to park in a numbered parking space, call the library at (812) 637-0777, and a staff member will deliver items to your car. You will not be asked to leave your vehicle.

North Dearborn curbside hours will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Mondays and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Patrons will need to have library cards ready at both locations for non-touch scanning. Snack packs will be available while supplies last.
