(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club showed their support of the Highpoint Health Foundation’s Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign by donating $2,500 to the initiative.

“An important aspect of the Kiwanis organization is to work together to build better communities,” noted Kevin Schafer, President of the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club. “While Kiwanis is an international service organization, we take great pride in supporting local organizations that are instrumental in helping to maintain a high quality of life in our community. Having exceptional healthcare that is accessible for all is a key factor in making Lawrenceburg an excellent community in which to live and work.”

Initiated in January, the Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign supports two strategic objectives: constructing a new cancer center in Dearborn County and increasing the Highpoint Health Foundation’s endowment.

“We are very appreciative of the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club’s most generous donation,” stated Michael W. Schwebler, President/CEO of Highpoint Health. “As one of Lawrenceburg’s most respected and well-known service organizations, it is gratifying to not only have their financial assistance, but also their tremendous support for the Campaign and its objectives.”

The Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club, which was established on January 27, 1923, is one of the oldest in the world. Kiwanis International was established in 1915 in Detroit and today the organization has more than 13,000 clubs in 70 countries. Actively involved with the youth in the community, the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club sponsors the Lawrenceburg High School Key Club and the Greendale Middle School Builders’ Club, as well as the annual Kiwanis Club Scholarship.

Financial support for the Hearing, Helping, Healing Campaign from businesses, organizations, government entities and individuals from throughout the region is greatly appreciated and will ensure the success of the campaign.
