Lauren's Burg Hill 5K Returns to Lawrenceburg June 18, Lofty Fundraising Goal Set

Registration opens this afternoon.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A lofty goal has been set for the next Lauren’s Burg Hill race.

Event organizer Mark Knigga announced Tuesday that the 8th annual Lauren’s Burg Hill 5-mile run and 5K run/walk will take place on Saturday, June 18.

The races will start in downtown Lawrenceburg and will end on the 22-yard line of the LHS football field. The 5K course is relatively flat, while the 5-mile “Hill” course returns with the reopening of Old State Road 48.

The goal is to raise $22,000 for “22” in 2022.

“I know that this is a lofty goal,” said Knigga. “With your support, the support of your family, and friends it can happen. So please spread the word.  Let’s make this a very special year for Lauren."

Like in year’s past, there are several ways to participate. You can run, walk, or sleep in.

Registration for the 5-mile and 5K races opens February 22 at 2:22 p.m. and will remain open until Thursday, June 16 at 7:22 p.m.

Pre-registration cost is $30 and includes a t-shirt if you register before June 11, or postmark mail in entry by June 9. Race day registration increases to $40 and includes a t-shirt, if available.

A virtual option is available for those who would like to run from home or with friends while maintaining social distance. Anyone taking advantage of this option should do so between June 11 and June 18.

And as always, the sleep-in option is there for anyone who wants to stay in bed and donate $22.

The race is the biggest fundraiser for Lauren’s Fight for Cure. The proceeds support Lauren’s Legacy to assist children and families fighting DIPG, the deadliest form of childhood brain cancer.
