(Cincinnati, Oh.) - The Cincinnati Reds open their 150th season Thursday with all the fanfare we’ve come to expect from Opening Day in the Queen City.

Opening Day brings the Pittsburgh Pirates to town. Luis Castillo will be on the mound for the Reds, while Pittsburgh counters with Jameson Taillon.  First pitch at Great American Ball Park is set for 4:10 p.m.

But before the first pitch is thrown at Great American Ball Park, thousands of people will celebrate at the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade. The 100th edition of the famous parade steps off at noon along Race and Fifth street.

Local groups you will see if you go to the parade include marching bands from Lawrenceburg High School, East Central High School, Boone County High School, and Taylor High School. Also the Lawrenceburg Knights of Columbus will be riding their Santa Maria wooden ship float in the parade.

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred will be the parade’s grand marshal. Hall of Fame catcher Johnny Bench is the official parade ambassador.

A full list of the parade entries and special appearances can be found at www.findlaymarketparade.com.

Several streets will be closed along the route and fans are encouraged to arrive early.
