(Batesville, Ind.) - Thanks to a generous donation from the Batesville Kiwanis, every third grader at Batesville Intermediate School (BIS) was provided the opportunity to participate in a Safety Around Water program at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA during school hours.
“The fact that every Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC) third-grade student had an opportunity for a swim assessment and a structured, individualized swim and safety lesson is a testament to our strong commitment to providing our community youth with programs that promote wellness and safety,” said Dana Cassidy, BIS principal. “This program has the potential to save young lives around water and is an excellent partnership with our YMCA. We appreciate the Kiwanis and the YMCA for making this enrichment experience possible.”
