Jennings Co. Bridge Washes Away

Multiple roadways in the county have experienced flooding.

(Jennings County, Ind.) - Due to heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours, multiple roadways throughout Jennings County have experienced severe flooding, washed out sections of roadway, and downed trees.

As a result of these hazardous conditions, the Jennings County Travel Advisory has been upgraded to YELLOW (Advisory Level).

Above is a photo from 1100 North, where a large section of the roadway has been completely washed away due to flooding. A temporary replacement has been constructed. 

The Sheriff's Office advises motorists to use extreme caution if you must travel, and to never drive through standing water.

Over the last 48 hours, numerous agencies have been working tirelessly responding to emergencies including trees down, flooded roadways, washed out roads, medical calls, and water rescues.
