(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville resident and pharmacist Tricia Jennewein has been named the Bulldog Ready community convener, a key role in the Batesville Community School Corporation’s (BCSC) new community-connected educational model. In this volunteer position, she will serve as the central contact person and curator of all available community resources relating to real-world opportunities for students.

“As we launch Bulldog Ready at the schools this year, it is important to have a community member dedicated to finding the resources we need to allow students to learn from those who have on-the-job experience,” said Kyle Laker, Bulldog Ready coordinator. “While I am working within the schools to determine how to bring the curriculum to life through hands-on learning, our community convener will help match community assets to desired student experiences.”

Jennewein has a pharmacy degree from Purdue and works part-time as a clinical pharmacist for Margaret Mary Health. She also serves as a board member of the Batesville Community Education Foundation. In this important new community role, she hopes to combine her business acumen with her experience as a Batesville Community School Corporation parent.

“I’ve lived in many places before settling in Batesville,” Jennewein explained. “It gives me a unique perspective when considering the strengths of our community. As someone working in the health care field, I understand the role of business in shaping our youth and am excited to give back to the school corporation that provided a great education to my children.”

Jennewein and her husband Brad have four children: Blake, Coleman, Aidan, and Chloe, all Batesville High School graduates. Her hobbies include scrapbooking, embroidering, hiking, and traveling.

For more information about the Bulldog Ready initiative, please visit the website or contact Kyle Laker at klaker@batesville.k12.in.us or 812-934-4384. Local businesses interested in participating in Bulldog Ready experiences should contact Jennewein directly at BulldogConvenerCouncil@outlook.com.
