Ivy Tech Promotes Lisa Moorhead To Vice Chancellor Student Enrollment, Success

Moorhead replaces Shakira Grubbs who was recently promoted to Assist Vice President of Recruitment Strategy at the Indy campus.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Ivy Tech Community College has promoted Lisa Moorhead as the Vice Chancellor for Student Enrollment and Student Success at the Lawrenceburg and Batesville campuses as of March 1st, 2021. Moorhead replaces Shakira Grubbs who was recently promoted to Assist Vice President of Recruitment Strategy at the Indianapolis Campus.

 “Lisa Moorhead has invaluable insight into the Lawrenceburg and Batesville communities along with her well-established relationships with the 10 high school corporations that are serviced by the Lawrenceburg and Batesville campuses”, Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg Chancellor Mark Graver said. “We welcome Lisa as the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services and Student Success and look forward to her efforts in further strengthening Ivy Tech’s vision and mission in Southeastern Indiana.”

Moorhead joined Ivy Tech in September 2020 and has served as the Employer Consultant for the Lawrenceburg service area. Prior to joining Ivy Tech, Lisa enjoyed a 31-year career at South Dearborn High School as a chemistry teacher, school counselor, testing coordinator, and for the last 8 years as the Director of Guidance. In her new role as Vice Chancellor for Student Enrollment and Student Success, Lisa will lead a staff of 16 individuals that are responsible for the recruitment, retention, and completion of all Ivy Tech students enrolled at either the Lawrenceburg or Batesville campuses that serve the counties of Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, and Ripley along with the Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky communities.

“I am very excited to lead the Enrollment Services and Student Success team for Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg/Batesville and to build upon the already great outreach provided to our students, families, workforce and to our community as a whole. It is rewarding to see the valuable outcomes that Ivy Tech provides in a wide variety of programs, whether it be a short-term certificate, associate degree or a jumpstart to a 4- year degree. I am thrilled to take part in this important work,” said Moorhead.

Moorhead resides in Aurora with her husband, Rob, the Superintendent of South Ripley School Corporation. They have two sons, Brad, math teacher and boys’ JV basketball coach at Edgewood Schools in Ellettsville, Indiana and Trent, math teacher and boys’ JV basketball coach at Franklin Community Schools in Franklin, Indiana.  Moorhead completed her Master’s degree in Educational Administration and also her School Counselor credentialing from Xavier University. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville in Secondary Science Education and was a graduate of South Dearborn High School.
