The accident occurred Sunday morning on U.S. 421 near Versailles.

(Versailles, Ind.) – An Indiana State Trooper was struck by debris and injured during a traffic stop over the weekend.
Senior Trooper Kyle Black was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 421 around 9:45 Sunday morning.
During the stop, a vehicle driven by Mary Ann Holman, 77, of Holton, collided with the rear of Black’s cruiser. The impact caused Black's cruiser to collide with the vehicle he had stopped.
Debris from Holman’s vehicle struck Trooper Black, who was standing outside of his vehicle. Black sustained an injury to his leg.
Black was transported to Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. He was treated and released.
Holman was transported to King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
A cause of the accident has yet to be determined. The investigation is ongoing.
