(Hamilton County, Oh.) - A resurfacing project on Interstate 74 is set to begin, with crews mobilizing next week for bridge work.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be paving approximately four miles of I-74, from just west of the S.R. 128 interchange to the Rybolt Road/Harrison Avenue interchange.

Construction also includes minor bridge work such as deck sealing, expansion joint repairs, and drilling of fatigue cracks on the structures within the project limits for paving, as well as on the West and New Haven Road bridges that carry traffic over I-74.

Crews will start work Tuesday, May 26, with deck sealing between I-275 and the Rybolt Road/Harrison Avenue interchange. Single and double-lane closures will be in effect on the various bridges nightly, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day. Restrictions may also be in effect at the I-74/I-275 eastern interchange.

Throughout the project, traffic will be maintained on I-74 in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in either direction.

Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $9.58 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early November.
