Indiana Unemployment Remains Unchanged In May

The state's jobless rate also matched the national rate last month.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana’s unemployment rate has remained steady in May from April.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development said Friday that the state’s jobless rate was at 3.6 percent last month.

The state’s 3.6 percent unemployment rate matched the national rate.

Locally, unemployment rates ranged from 2.8 percent in Ripley County to 3.1 percent in Dearborn County. Franklin, Ohio and Switzerland counties all had the same jobless rate in May at 2.9 percent. 

Indiana’s labor force had a net increase of nearly 10-thousand-700 over the previous month, and the state’s total labor force stands at 3.4 million.
