(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana’s unemployment rate saw a slight increase in May.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s jobless rate stands at 4.0 percent for May, up from 3.9 percent a month prior.
The state unemployment rate remains below the national average of 5.8 percent.
Indiana’s total labor force stands at 3.34 million, and the state’s 63.2 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.6 percent.
Among neighboring states, Kentucky had an unemployment rate of 4.5 in May, followed by Ohio at 5.0 percent.
May unemployment data for Indiana counties will be available Thursday, June 24 at noon.
