(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Indiana’s unemployment rate saw a slight decrease from August to September.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state’s jobless rate dropped to 6.2 percent in September, down from 6.4 percent a month prior.
Indiana’s unemployment rate remains below the national rate of 7.9 percent.
Among neighboring states, Kentucky has the best unemployment rate of 5.6 percent, followed by Ohio at 8.4 percent.
Indiana’s labor force currently stands at 3.33 million, and the state’s 63 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 61.4 percent.
September employment data for Indiana counties will be available Wednesday, October 21 at noon.
