The last time the Hoosier State saw its jobless rate this low was in February of 2018.
(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana’s jobless rate fell to 3.3 percent in August.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state's unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since February of 2018.
Indiana’s unemployment also remains below the national rate of 3.7 percent.
Locally, unemployment rates ranged from 3.0 percent in Ripley County to 3.4 percent in Dearborn County.
The state’s labor force shrank by more than 21-hundred workers in August, making it that much tougher for employers to reach their staffing needs. Still, Indiana's total labor force stands at 3.38 million and the state's 64.6 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 63.2 percent.
